This $250 Android phone has great performance, more than a day of battery life, and top-notch software support.

CHEAP Mobiles have a chance. For the first time, you can pay just $250 for a smartphone and expect it to receive security updates within four years. You'll find a sleek display that can handle most smartphone tasks, even gaming, and take consistent photos that you don't want to break your eyes. That's my experience with the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G. This Android phone may not look very nice - its plastic construction looks cheap and attracts a lot of fingerprints - but I've been using it for almost a month with an almost hiccup. If you hate spending money on a phone and don't mind having the best cameras, the A13 5G has standards at a short price.

A + phone

For cheap phones, you need a device that can run all your favorite applications and games without much stamina or delay. The Mediatek Dimensity 700 processor in the Galaxy A13 5G succeeded here. Applications open fast, switching between them is fast and I've rarely seen this phone slow down. Even games like Wings Forever and Dead Cells are well done on the device.

There is a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh, which will last the A13 5G for more than one day. If you're conservative enough, you can get two full days off this phone, but I usually end up with a full day and a half of battery life. Like most cheap phones, there is no wireless charging, and don't expect it to charge 100 percent immediately.

You only get 64 GB of storage, which is at the bottom of the phone for this price, but there is a MicroSD card slot that allows you to expand this space if you need more. Other benefits include NFC, so you can pay contactless with Google Pay (in my opinion it will be available on any phone), a power button that acts as a fingerprint reader, and a headphone jack.

Samsung's software interface isn't as easy as you'll find on phones like the Moto G Stylus 2022 or OnePlus Nord N20 5G - and there are many Samsung applications - but you can delete most of them and there are many more. . Settings. When it comes to software support, Samsung is ahead of its counterparts: It promises two operating system updates and a four-year security update. No other phone in this price category is close. (A13 5G was launched on Android 11, but was updated to Android 12 and will also get Android 13.)

The display is one of the few features of this phone that is disappointing. It is a low-resolution LCD panel with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Of course, the interaction with the display is smooth. But if you look closely, things can look bad. My experience with using the phone was not significantly affected, but the poor brightness of the screen was. When you're outdoors in direct sunlight, it can be difficult to read the screen, and it doesn't help that Samsung's auto brightness feature gradually adjusts. Normally I have to adjust the screen brightness manually.

The camera system did not win any awards either. Don't be fooled by the field of three cameras. It is a 50-megapixel main camera combined with a 2-megapixel macro and a 2-megapixel depth camera. The latter is only useful for enhancing photos in portrait mode with a more accurate blur effect, and I've rarely seen the need for a macro camera (which allows you to take super close-ups). photographs of objects). The main camera alone can take decent photos when the lighting is good (as long as you keep your hands still while tapping the shutter button to avoid blur). Colors aren't always as natural as I'd like and struggle with high-contrast scenes. Unfortunately, there is no night mode, so images in low light are always full of noise and not too sharp. However, I would say that the camera system is comparable to the Moto G 5G for $ 400, if not much better. I recently went on a trip to Poconos to say goodbye to my bachelor and I informed my partner about a lot of photos and I didn't miss the camera.

Alpha Budget

This Samsung phone was launched exclusively by AT&T in December but has only recently been unlocked, and I have confirmed with Samsung that it will work with T-Mobile and Verizon (including a 5G connection). I should point out that Samsung also sells the Galaxy A13 4G LTE version with some other specifications. I haven't tried this model yet, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Motorola's competing phone, the Moto G Stylus 2022, lacks 5G access, especially wherever the length of software support that Samsung offers is approaching. The OnePlus Nord N20 5G has a nicer screen, but will not work with Verizon and has an AT&T 4G LTE connection.

The A13 5G avoids such problems and is cheaper than both devices. It may be easy, but it works everywhere and it's relatively hassle-free. It's the best $ 300 phone I've ever seen, and most people will enjoy it.
